5.0 out of 5 stars Informative and Effective Guide - Highly Recommend!
This insightful guide was highly readable and engaging. Woodworth provides tangible advice to help you on your path to becoming a more effective, engaged board member through the development of increased self-awareness. In particular, her 'Ignite Model' focuses on developing relational insight, innovating, and engaging to establish positive cultural change. While her guide offers a practical, step-by-step approach for new (and tenured) board members, I found that her model also had a lot of cross-applicability. In brief, her approach offers the same insight for those looking to improve their workplace culture, foster better conflict resolution, and boost team dynamics. Highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars You don't need to be a non-profit board member to benefit from this book!
Having not served on a non-profit board in an official capacity before, I was curious to see what I would take away from reading this book. While the book is extremely helpful in that regard, it really is a lesson on how to maximize working relationships and make the most of situations that you are in. It's easy to get into a new position or organization and feel like you have to make your presence known immediately. Elise does a fantastic job showing how to make impactful, meaningful change the right way. As an Air Force Veteran, she has the skills and knowledge to help individuals maximize their respective qualities for the betterment of the group. Do yourself a favor, REGARDLESS of whether you have ever served on a non-profit board, and pick up this book. It's a fantastic book about life lessons that you will continue to pay dividends long after you finish. Don't hesitate, just read it!
